Police [IG] Cancels Screening Excercise For Policemen With University & Poly Degrees While In Service

The Inspector-General of Police, Solomon Arase, has put on hold the ongoing screening of policemen, who acquired university and polytechnic degrees while in service.

The decision, he said, was based on allegations of malpractices and innuendoes going around.

Arase, in a statement by the Force Public Relations Officer, Olabisi Kolawole, on Monday in Abuja, said the Police High Command and Police Service Commission had decided to engage the services of an independent assessor for neutrality and free exercise.

It read, “The IG enjoined all qualified policemen to be patient and ensure they attend the forthcoming screening to be scheduled by the independent body.

“He assured them that all qualified policemen will be considered appropriately. “When the exercise is completed, each state of the federation will have equal number of representation.
