The Federal University of Agriculture, Makurdi, Benue State (FUAM) is set to host the 2016 edition of the biannual university games (Nuga games). The Nigerian University Games Association (NUGA) have concluded arrangements to inspect facilities at the University by the end of January.
It is worthy of note that no date has been fixed for the 2016 event. A NUGA official said the body needed to ascertain the level of the host's preparedness toward the competition even though it had visited the university in 2015 on the same mission.
However, Vice Chancellor of the University of Agriculture, Makurdi, Professor Emmanuel Iornumbe Kucha has promised that Facilities for 25th NUGA games will be ready in record time. He stated that the institution will host the best NUGA Games in 2016.
The Nigerian University Games Association NUGA Secretary Bola Orodele also called on corporate organisations to help sponsor and develop the games which, according to him, discovered athletes like Olumide Oyedeji, the current national basketball team captain.
