Over 28,000 students of the Federal Polytechnic Bida will receive their National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) certificates during the combined convocation ceremony of the institution holding on Saturday, 2nd April, 2016.
According to the Rector, Dr Abubakar Abdul Dzukogi, who spoke at a media briefing to herald the 14th combined convocation of the polytechnic, 995 of the graduating students bagged distinctions.
Dzukogi said that the joint convocation ceremony is for students who graduated from the institution between 2008-2015.
He lamented the dichotomy between HND holders and University's Degrees, saying it is not good for the nation's economy.
The rector, who branded the dichotomy as unnecessary, noted that in developed economies, the HND graduates drive the economy.
He added that the convocation lecture will be delivered by Prof. Ibrahim Kolo, a former Vice-Chancellor at the Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University.
