The National Youth Service Corps is to conduct training for officers handling the production and issuance of Certificate of National Service in a bid to enhance their performance.
The Director-General, Brigadier General Sulaiman Kazaure, announced this today when he addressed the Certification officers from all NYSC State Secretariats, who converged on Abuja for the collection of Certificates of National Service ahead of the discharge of the 2015 Batch ‘B’ Corps members.
Kazaure, who said his visit to the issuance centre was to identify with the officers, enjoined them to strive towards adding value to their job.
Management, he said, was determined to achieve continuous improvement in the production and handling of certificates, and urged them to proffer ideas towards achieving the desired outcomes.
Earlier, the Director of Corps Certification Alhaji Aliyu Hudu Taura said the Director-General’s visit to the venue of the certificate issuance exercise was the first by any Chief Executive of the Scheme, and went on to describe it as a morale booster.
He said the officers were committed to handling their jobs with high level of integrity and dedication.
Some of the officers in attendance gave various suggestions on improvement of the process.
