Federal University, Dutsin-ma Internal and External Advertisement for Senior Teaching and Non-Teaching Staff Vacancies

Federal University Dutsin-Ma, Katsina State is located in Dutsin-Ma, Katsina State commenced academic activities in July, 2012. Applications are hereby, invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill senior staff vacancies in the following Departments of the University for teaching and non-teaching staff.
  1. TEACHING STAFF VACANCIES: There exists vacancies for the positions of (a) Professors (b) Readers (c) Senior Lecturers (d) Lecturers I (e) Lecturers II (e) Assistant Lecturers and (f) Graduate Assistants in the following departments and areas:
    1. Business Management

    QUALIFICATIONS
    1. Professor  (CONUASS 07) – CODE PROF
      Candidates should be holders of Ph.D degree from a recognised University with at least twelve (12) years experience in teaching, research and academic administration in a tertiary institution.  Candidates should be able to develop new programs, guide and conduct research and have proven supervision and administrative capabilities. Candidates must possess demonstrable competence to provide academic leadership. Candidates must also be specialists in core areas of departmental fields of study with evidence of scholarly publications in both local and international reputable peer-reviewed journals, plus registration with relevant professional bodies where applicable.
    2. Reader (CONUASS 06) – CODE RD
      Candidates should be holders of Ph.D degree from a recognised University with at least nine (9) years experience in teaching, research and academic administration in a tertiary institution.  Candidates must possess demonstrable competence to provide academic leadership. Candidates must also be specialists in core areas of departmental fields of study with evidence of scholarly publications in both local and international reputable peer-reviewed journals, plus registration with relevant professional bodies where applicable.
    3. Senior Lecturer (CONUASS 05) – CODE SL
      Qualifications are same as in (b) above albeit with at least six (6) years experience in teaching, research and academic administration in a tertiary institution.  Candidates must have evidence of at least six (6) scholarly publications in local and international reputable peer-reviewed journals, and six (6) conference papers.
    4. Lecturer I (CONUASS 04) – CODE LI
      Candidates should be holders of PhD from recognised Universities with at least three (3) years post-doctoral experience in teaching, research and academic administration in tertiary institutions, with evidence of at least three (3) journal articles in reputable peer-reviewed journals and three (3) conference papers, plus registration with relevant professional bodies where applicable. Candidates with MA/MSc with at least six (6) years post qualification teaching and administrative experience in tertiary institution, six (6) journal articles, evidence of PhD registration or Master’s CGPA of not less than 4.0/5.0 may also apply.
    5. Lecturer II (CONUASS 03) – CODE LII
      Candidates should possess a PhD or MA/MSc with three (3) years post-qualification teaching, research and administrative experience in tertiary institution. PhD registration or Master’s CGPA of not less than 4.0/5.0 and at least one journal publication, plus registration with relevant professional bodies where applicable would be required.
    6. Assistant Lecturer (CONUASS 02) – CODE AL
      Candidates should be holders of MA/MSc Degree in relevant fields with clear evidence of registration for a PhD programme or Masters CGPA of not less than 4.0/5.0. Registration with relevant professional bodies, where applicable, will be an added advantage.
    7. Graduate Assistant (CONUASS 01) – CODE GA
      Candidate must be holders of first degree with a minimum of Second Class (Upper Division) in relevant fields
  2. TECHNOLOGISTS:
    1. Technologist I (CONTISS 07) – CODE TG1
      Candidate must be holders of BSc./HND in relevant fields
    2. Technologist II (CONTISS 06) – CODE TG2
      Candidate must be holders of OND in relevant fields
    1. SENIOR NON-TEACHING STAFF VACANCIES:
  3. Directorate Positions:
    Appointments into the Directorate positions are for a period of two (2) years initially and are renewable for another term of two (2) years and no more.
    1. Director University Health Services
    2. Director Physical Planning and Works
  4. Qualifications:
    1. Director University Health Services (CONTISS 15) – CODE DUHS
      1. MBBS plus, at least, twelve (12) years of post-housemanship experience;
      2. Postgraduate training in Public health, Community Health and Family Medicine or General Medicine is an added advantage.
      3. NYSC discharge certificate or exemption certificate or certificate of exclusion where applicable.
    2. Director Physical Planning and Works (CONTISS 15) – CODE DPPW
      1. Good honours degree or HND in Engineering courses, Architecture, Quantity Surveying, Building or Urban and Regional Planning from a recognised institution (possession of postgraduate certificate is an added advantage);
      2. NYSC discharge certificate or exemption certificate or certificate of exclusion where applicable;
      3. Membership registration of COREN, CORBON, QSRBN, TOPREC, ACON, or any other relevant professional bodies;
      4. Minimum of fifteen (15) years cognate experience, five (5) of which shall be in a senior position in a tertiary educational institution;
      5. Computer literacy with good knowledge of engineering, environmental design and PowerPoint packages.
  5. Other Heads of Non-Teaching Departments:
    1. Chief Procurement Officer
    2. Chief Security Officer
    3. University Legal and Industrial Relations Officer

    1. Chief Procurement Officer (CONTISS 13) – CODE CPO
      1. Good honours degree in Accounting, Social Sciences, Business Administration or Law from a recognised institution (possession of postgraduate certificate is an added advantage);
      2. NYSC discharge certificate or certificate of exemption or certificate of exclusion where applicable;
      3. Membership registration of relevant professional bodies;
      4. Attainment of the position of Principal Procurement Officer;
      5. Minimum of twelf (12) years cognate experience, five (5) of which shall be in a tertiary educational institution;
      6. Computer literacy with good knowledge of word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint packages.
    2. Chief Security Officer (CONTISS 13) – CODE CSO
      1. Must possess, at least, first degree in any field of study;
      2. Must have attained the rank of Colonel in the Nigerian Army or equivalent rank in other security outfits;
      3. Must have held commanding positions in the security outfit he/she served;
      4. Must have been in senior military or paramilitary position for no less than 15 years.
    3. University Legal & Industrial Relations Officer (CONTISS 13) – CODE ULIRO
      1. Possession of LLB, BL (possession of LLM is an added advantage);
      2. NYSC discharge certificate or exemption certificate or certificate of exclusion where applicable;
      3. At least 12 years of post qualification experience, six (6) of which must have been in a tertiary institution.

    1. Deputy Registrars
    2. Principal Assistant Registrars
    3. Senior Assistant Registrars
    4. Confidential Secretary I
    5. Confidential Secretary II
QUALIFICATIONS
  1. Deputy Registrar (CONTISS 14) – CODE DR
    Candidates must possess a good University Degree preferably in the Humanities, Law and Social Sciences plus fourteen (14) years cognate experience, nine (9) of which must have been spent in a University system.
  2. Principal Assistant Registrar (CONTISS 13) – CODE PAR
    Qualifications are same as in the requirements for Deputy Registrar albeit with eleven (11) years cognate experience, six (6) of which must have been spent in a University system.
  3. Senior Assistant Registrar (CONTISS 11) – CODE SAR
    Qualifications are same as in the requirements for Principal Assistant Registrar albeit with nine eight (8) years cognate experience, (3) of which must have been spent in a tertiary institution.
  4. Confidential Secretary I (CONTISS 07) – CODE CSI
    Candidates must possess Higher National Diploma (HND) in Secretarial Studies passed at minimum of Lower Credit level, with six (6) years cognate experience plus demonstrable ability for 60 words speed per minute in typing plus computer literacy.  Candidates must have WASC/SSCE/GCE with at least 5 credits, one of which must be in English Language. In addition, candidates should be proficient in oral and written English Language.
  5. Confidential Secretary II (CONTISS 06) – CODE CSII
    Candidates must possess National Diploma (ND) in Secretarial Studies passed at minimum of Lower Credit level, with a demonstrable ability for 50 words speed per minute in typing, with three (3) years cognate experience, plus computer literacy. Candidates must have WASC/SSCE/GCE with at least credits in 5 subjects including English Language. In addition, Candidates should be proficient in oral and written English Language.

QUALIFICATIONS
  1. Bursar (Salary as being paid in Federal Universities) CODE BURS:
    Candidates should have a minimum of second class degree (lower division) in Accounting in addition to having a professional qualification i.e. ICAN, ANAN or ACCA with at least 15 years working experience in a university or tertiary educational institutions. Proficiency in ICT with relevant financial and accounting packages is required. Appointment is for a single term of 5 years as stipulated in the university (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1993 as amended.
  2. Deputy Bursar (CONTISS 14) – CODE DB
    Candidate should possess a B.Sc. Degree/HND in Accounting, plus fifteen (15) years cognate experience, out of which nine (9) years must have been spent in a tertiary institution.  Candidate should be registered with relevant professional bodies
  3. Chief Accountant (CONTISS 13) – CODE CAT
    Qualifications are same as in Deputy Bursar albeit with twelve (12) years cognate experience, out of which six (6) years must have been spent in a tertiary institution.
  4. Principal Accountant (CONTISS 11) – CODE PAT
    Qualifications are same as in Chief Accountant albeit with nine (9) years cognate experience out of which three (3) years must have been spent in a tertiary institution.

      Candidate should possess B. Eng./B. Tech/HND in (Electrical/Electronic/Comp. Eng.), must be familiar with computer networking, network security,network design & troubleshooting with ability to install configure and manage network devices (switches, Routers, etc),Possession of CCNA, A+, Network+ or CFOT will be an added advantage.
    3. Network Administrator I (CONTISS 08) – CODE NA-I
      Candidate should possess B. Eng./B. Tech/HND in (Electrical/Electronic/Comp. Eng.);must be familiar with computer networking, network security,network design & troubleshooting, ability to install configure and manage network devices (switches, Routers, etc)plus 3 years working experience.Possession of CCNA, A+, Network+ or CFOT will be an added advantage.
    4. Principal Technical Officer   (CONTISS 11) – CODE PTO
      Candidate should possess HND/B. Engr. (Electrical/Electronic/Comp. Eng.) plus 8 years cognate experience in computer hardware, Data Communications equipment maintenance and troubleshooting, power supply system monitoring and management.
    5. Higher Technical Officer  (CONTISS 07) – CODE HTO
      Candidate must be holder of HND/B. Engr. (Electrical/Electronic/Comp. Eng.)with some familiarity in electronic and use of tools and measuring devices.
    6. Computer ProgrammerII (CONTISS 07) – CODE CP-II
      Candidate should possess B. Sc. /B. Tech. /HND in Computer Science; Information Systems; Info. Technology.Practical experience in using any or most of the following programming languages HTML, Java, PHP, .Net, Python.Recognised industrial certifications will be an added advantage.
    7. Computer Programmer I (CONTISS 08) – CODE CP-I
      Candidate should possess B. Sc. /B. Tech. /HND in Computer Science; Information Systems; Info. Technology.With Practical experience in using any or most of the following programming languages HTML, Java, PHP, .Net, Python.Plus 3 years working experience.Recognised industrial certifications will be an added advantage.
    8. Database AdministratorII (CONTISS 07) – CODE DBA-II
      Candidate should possess B. Sc. Computer Science/ Information Systems with practical experience with Database Applications; SQL;MySQL etc.
    9. Database Administrator I (CONTISS 08) – CODE DBA-I
      Candidate should possess B. Sc. Computer Science/ Information Systems Practical experience with Database Applications; SQL;MySQLetc.plus 3 years working experience in a relevant field.
    10. Senior Computer Operator  (CONTISS 06) – CODE SCO
      Candidate should possess ND in Computer Science with experience in the use of Software Applications (MS Office/ Graphics design software etc).
    11. System Administrator I (CONTISS 08) – CODE SA1
      Candidate should possess B.Eng/B. Tech/HND; Electrical/Electronic/InfoTech./InfoSys/Comp.Eng./Software Engwith Practical experience in networking, server setup, administration and management in either Windows or Linux environment,Plus 3 years working experience.Familiarity with VMware will be an added advantage.
    12. Senior System Administrator  (CONTISS 09) – CODE SSA
      Candidate should possess B.Eng / B.Tech / HND; Electrical/Electronic/InfoTech./InfoSys/Comp.Eng./Software Eng.with Practical experience in networking, server setup, administration and management in either Windows or Linux environment,Plus 6 years cognate experience.Familiarity with VMware will be an added advantage.
    13. Senior Maintenance Engineer (CONTISS 09) – CODE SME
      Candidate should possess B. Eng./B. Tech/HND (Electrical/Electronic/Comp. Eng.) Plus 6 years cognate experience in computer hardware, networking and electrical/electronic maintenance.
    14. Network Technician (CONTISS 06) – CODE NT
      Candidate should possess ND (Electrical/Electronic/Comp. Eng.), some experience in LAN,WLAN and Computer hardware.

    1. All candidates must possess NYSC Discharge Certificate or Exemption Certificate or Certificate of Exclusion where applicable.
    2. Applications of candidates for the positions of professor and Reader would be subjected to external assessment before assuming duty, in keeping with the regulations.
    3. Salaries, allowances and other conditions of service attached to the various positions are the same as approved for federal universities in Nigeria.
