Malpractice: WAEC Barred Two Schools In Imo State, De-recognizes 28 Others

Latest information reaching our news desk confirmed that the West African Examination Council Of Nigeria [WAEC] has barred two schools in Imo state from registering as an examination centre or presenting their students as candidates in any of its examinations for a period of 5 years, due to serious case of exam malpractice recorded in such schools.
Twenty Eight othere school in the same state was also de-recognize due to serious cases of malpractice.
Mr Demianus Ojijeogu, The Head, Public Affairs of the council who spoke with the correspondent declined mentioning of the school names, instead he disclosed that such schools are usually referred by their centre numbers and not by their names.
In one of the schools reported for malpractice,WAEC officials were locked out for more than 30 minutes in the obviously for examination malpractice to perpetrate.
He noted that as for the derecognized schools, examinations will still hold in their schools but their teachers will not be used as invigilators.
He also stated that the 28 other schools might as well be considered again after two years, if things have been put in place to prevent future re-occurrence of malpractice.
