Be Worthy Ambassadors- FUNAI VC Charges Final Year Students

The final year students of the Federal University Ndufu-Alike Ikwo (FUNAI), Ebonyi State has been charged to be worthy ambassadors of the institution when they graduate.

This charge was led recently by the Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Chinedum Nwajiuba during a seminar organized by the Alumni and Parents Relations Office for the final year students of the University in preparation for their eventual graduation later this year.

The Vice Chancellor who was represented in the occasion by Bar. Grace Eze-Ali also used the opportunity to assure the prospective graduates of the University’s readiness to assist them in their graduation process by providing all the necessary logistics to enable them graduate on time, calling on them to ensure that they do not have any academic failure on their part.

Also speaking during the event, the Dean of student Affairs, Dr. Charles Okoli called on the soon-to-be alumni to invest in their alma mater, noting that they were a strategic stakeholder of the University.

He further reminded the prospective graduates that the University Alumni Association is compulsory for every graduate of the institution.

Exploring the Vast Opportunities of the Alumni towards the Overall Growth and Development of their University, Mr. Kenneth Ereke, National President, Ebonyi State University Alumni Association and Public Relations Officer of the conference of Alumni Associations of Nigerian Universities (CAANU) noted that ALUMNI differ from Aluta Continua.

He stressed that once an alumnus, the struggle with the University authorities was over. He averred that the association would among other things engender peace and unity, interconnectivity and interrelationships among members, and also helps them in job hunting.

He further advised the University Alumni Office to commence the publishing of a quarterly or annual magazine that would be worthy of its members’ consumption, where topical issues about the university could be highlighted.

Earlier, the University’s Alumni and Parents Relations officer, Miss Nwonu Eucharia enjoined the would-be-graduates to be worthy representatives of the University, advising them to always ensure that their individual lives were in tandem with the values and philosophy of the University.
