FG Declares Christmas, New Year & Boxing Day Public Holidays


The Federal Government has declared Monday and Tuesday, 25th and 26th December, 2017 as Public Holidays to mark the Christmas and Boxing Day Celebrations.

Also, Monday, 1st January, 2018 was declared public holiday for the 2018 New Year Anniversary.

This is contained in a statement by the Minister of Interior, Lt Gen. Abdurrahman Dambazau (rtd), on behalf of the Government.

He enjoined Christian faithful and all Nigerians to use the period to pray for continued growth and development of the country. 

He also called on Nigerians to strengthen their resolve to maintain the country’s peace and unity.

The Minister urged all citizens, both at home and abroad to support the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari in its determination to improve the living standard of the people.
